Renowned as one of Britain’s most cherished monarchs, Queen Victoria’s 63-year reign left an indelible mark on history. Ascending the throne at just 18 on June 28, 1838, Victoria oversaw an era of profound political, industrial, and social change. Her enduring dedication to her role and her strength in the face of personal tragedy cemented her legacy.

In February 1840, Victoria married her cousin, Prince Albert, and together they had nine children. Her greatest heartbreak came with Albert’s untimely passing at the age of 42. Victoria’s mourning defined much of her later life, as she famously wore black and remained devoted to his memory.

Victoria’s influence extended across British society and the world, lending her name to the "Victorian" era.
